Is anything in this campaign KS-exclusive?

For this campaign, we are offering wooden food and shipping tokens and 6 promo cards that will not be available at retail. They may be made available at conventions we attend, or through our online store(s). The stretch goals that are unlocked during the campaign will be included in all copies of the first print-run of the game, but we do not know if these upgrades will be in future printings of the games (if there are any).

How much am I saving compared to retail?

For the main pledge items, these are all discounted approximately 40% from the recommended price you would expect to see at retail (if stores carry the games). For the other games available via the Pledge Manager, these games have all been discounted heavily, and/or shipping subsidised. The standard edition of the game (without wooden tokens and promo cards) will have an MSRP of $55-$60USD.

Why Aussie dollars?

…because we are located in Australia. But don’t worry, your payment should be transferred to AUD automatically when pledges are collected - you don’t need to convert it yourself :) We have listed an estimate of what each pledge will cost in USD, etc., but note these estimates are subject to change.

Can I pledge $1 and gain access to the pledge manager?

Yes, pledging for the minimum amountwill give you access to the pledge manager, however it won’t help us reach our stretch goals :)

Is VAT included in my pledge?

No, VAT will be collected from you through the pledge manager after the campaign (based on your shipping country).

What if I need a refund?

We will gladly refund you if the request is made within 14 days of the end of the campaign. Following that time frame, any “no reward” pledges will not be refunded. All requests for a refund, if accepted by us, will be subject to a 15% cancellation fee, which rises to 25% if you ask for a refund once the games are produced. This percentage represents the Kickstarter fees, our work, and payment processing fees. We will not process any refunds once fulfilment is underway. Please note that if you do not complete the pledge manager by our required deadline, you will not be eligible for a refund for any reason. The pledge manager will be open for sufficient time to complete it, and we will send several reminders as well.

Will the shipment of the games be US/CAN/EU/UK/AU "friendly"?

All games will ship to backers from within one of these regions (or direct from China). This should remove the possibility of fees/taxes on incoming packages to the above regions. Customs-friendly means, if you live in any of these regions and have any additional charges for receiving your package, simply email [email protected] a copy of your customs receipt and we will reimburse you via PayPal. Note: If your country is not in one of the above-mentioned regions, we cannot guarantee customs-friendly shipping in these areas. (For example, Norway & Switzerland are not in the European Union.)

When will I pay for shipping?

Shipping will be charged in the Kickstarter. If you add add-ons you may pay additional shipping costs via the pledge manager.

What other games will be availabe in the pledge manager?

You will be able to add-on extra copies of Food for Thought, and some other Grail titles. This list of games will depend on where you live in relation to where the games are located. We will e able to announce this after the campaign. We assume all 2024 Grail releases will be available.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
